Why should I schedule a consultation?

Español

Some Immigration matters are more straightforward than others. How should you choose an immigration attorney?  Can you do it yourself?  What is it that you don't know?  Can you afford the risk to find out?  When you, your business, or your family is at stake, a smart person knows when to hire an attorney.  Here is a good rule of thumb: If the procedure does not have serious consequences, seek free or cheap legal advice.

In Immigration, even the most basic procedures can cause problems much later if you don't have the experience to plan the game three steps ahead.  Our clients' greatest problems often come as a result of some minor document they filed on their own.  These forms are maintained by the USCIS for years or even decades, and can be used by them to deny a case based on a wide range of very specific circumstances.  As a result, that simple document comes back years later to potentially ruin their case, and they often don't even remember filing it.

Just because the forms are simple does not mean that the procedures are also simple.  These government agencies are not here to help you in any way.  They are here to follow very specific legislative regulations and internal policies.  The average USCIS filing fee is over $300.  Some are as much as $2,800.  When your application is denied on a technicality or is left pending because it is not applicable, they will not refund that filing fee.  Even when you mistakenly send a form that does not apply to your case, the USCIS will not return your paid filling fees. They won't even let you know that you that you filed the wrong form! There are many ways we can help.

Why choose ILC Law Firm?

Many law firms charge a rate equal to ours just to have you speak with a paralegal or a case processor.  When you schedule a consultation with ILC, you can choose to speak directly with Immigration Attorney Sonia Munoz.  Click here to read her bio.

A few small, less qualified law firms offer free or very cheap consultations.  Why do they give away their service for free?  Most likely, you get what you pay for.  Again, if the procedure you're seeking advice about does not have serious consequences, seek free or cheap advice.  We let you know right up front, what to expect from your consultation.

As an added incentive, we credit the full value of our consultation towards your case fee, if you retain our firm within 48 hours of our initial consultation.  In other words, if you hire our firm soon after your consultation, your consultation is free.  During this time we also answer limited additional questions from yourself or employer/employee by email or phone at no additional cost.

How do I set up a consultation?

Our consultation fee is $250 for a one hour consultation.  We accept all major credit cards and we can process your order over the phone.  Just call one of the numbers listed below and follow the instructions, or you can simply dial extension 104.  We look forward to speaking with you.  Thank you for choosing ILC Law Firm.
